Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Approaches

EMDR Therapy:

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR Therapy is an effective, evidence-based treatment for trauma, stress, and anxiety and can be used with children, teens, and adults. It focuses on past experiences, present triggers, and future events, addressing beliefs, emotions, and sensory/somatic/bodily sensations in order to provide holistic healing.

I am an EMDRIA Certified therapist and an EMDRIA-Approved Consultant.

Brainspotting:

Accessing Deep Brain Resources

I am trained in Brainspotting (Phase 1 and 2), a focused-mindfulness therapy that locates points in your visual field to access unprocessed trauma in the subcortical brain. It can also be used to enhance and expand upon areas where you may feel limited. It is based on the theory that brain activity, especially in the subcortical brain, organizes itself around an eye position - that “Where you look affects how you feel.”

Compassionate Parts Work: Internal Family Systems (IFS) and other approaches to address parts of self

Parts Work approaches view our selves as comprised of multiple 'parts' that hold different emotions and beliefs. Such approaches help clients access their core Self to heal wounded parts, promoting internal harmony and self-leadership. I am an IFS-informed therapist and incorporate IFS and other parts work approaches.

Deep emotional wounds rarely resolve through intellect or talk therapy alone. I use trauma-informed approaches to work gently with the nervous system, honoring every layer of your history while attending to your present life as well. We'll work together towards wholeness and restoration.

Safety & Stabilization

Reprocessing & Release

Integration & Growth

We begin by establishing a secure, confidential space where you can feel grounded. This phase focuses on building resources and coping strategies to manage distress effectively.

Once stable, we gently engage with the traumatic memories and attachment wounds using somatic modalities. This allows for deep processing and the release of stored emotional pain.

The final phase involves integrating new insights and emotional freedom into your daily life. We focus on strengthening your core Self and fostering lasting resilience and well-being.
